Aesthetic projection welding units are used for steel mobile parts of vehicles (doors, hoods, trunks, tailgates, front fenders) to consolidate and anchor the union between inner and outer panel after the perimeter crimping process carried out by electromechanical equipment or by robot and specific roller tool.

Welding is typically of the MF indirect projection type. The boss is pressed by means of a KGR pneumatic-hydraulic unit on the inner panel, whereas, on the outer panel, tabs are obtained next to the bosses during pressing.
